Vermentino Lunghèra

The La Lunghèra vineyards are situated just outside the town of Ortovero. The sunny position and privileged climate of the land emphasize the high organoleptic quality of the vermentino grapes harvested there.
These vineyards produce bunches of grapes with golden and amber coloured grains which ripe in the warm sun and experience the sea breeze that the rugged mountains rising from the Liguria Sea direct to the narrow and winding Arroscia valley.

Grape varieties and area of production
It is produced with the grapes from the same vine harvested in the land parcels 40, 56, 57, 348, 58,61 of Sheet 14 of the cadastral mapping of Ortovero town council land office.

Type of cultivation
Guyot.

Characteristics
Dry white wine. Straw-yellow colour with golden faded greenish reflections. In its fresh fruit bouquet, apricot, apple and white peach scents stand out accompanied in the background by sage, broom and perfumes of the Mediterranean vegetation. Dry yet soft to the taste, mellow, fresh, well-bodied and persistent with a clear evocation to the olfactory perception.
The aftertaste is characterized by aroma of green herb and shrubs typical of Western Liguria.

Alcoholic strength
13,5/14,5 % vol. depending upon the vintage.

Total acidity
Approx.. 5/5,50 g/l.

Food matching
Dry white wine ideal to accompany many different fish-based dishes as well as poultry and vegetables. Perfect with fish “al sale” and “al cartoccio” (the first, baked under a layer of salt and the latter in tinfoil) and stuffed vegetables.

How to serve and to store
Serve at a temperature of 12° C in a long stem wine glass.
Store in the lowest racks of the cellar at a constant temperature between 10 and 14° C.
